A web application developed by Workspace to digitise the process of creating service reports for a marine engineering company. Also, the app includes data systematization, analytics, and time tracking features, and it can be used offline.

Intro

The goal of this project was to digitise operations in the division responsible for ship servicing and maintenance, raise the service level delivered to clients and streamline daily work. The focus was on a web application that would replace the existing service report, a document used to present and verify completed work and prepare invoices. By modernising these processes, the company aimed to improve efficiency, accuracy and overall service quality.

Challenge

The previous workflow relied on manual entry of work hours, overtime control and scattered spreadsheets, which made accurate planning and resource tracking difficult. There was a clear need to centralise work orders, material costs and reporting data in one system, with analytics to support capacity planning and employee rewards. Reports also had to include all relevant information while mobile and web applications simplified access and day-to-day management.

Solution

The solution was a web and mobile application that lets service technicians enter data on completed work, used spare parts and work hours in one place. Managers can review and analyse spent hours, control overtime and generate PDF reports with multi-language support. The app also offers offline mode, real-time notifications and built-in analytics, ensuring smooth operation and better resource management even in challenging environments.
